Timothy Weaver dem Besitzer des leider nicht mehr existenten Greenleaf Inn, Newburyport, MA:Not too well known for foilage is Essex County, Massachusetts, only half hour north from Boston. Start with Salem and drive to Rockport, then head back through 133 to Essex, a village of antique shops. From there you can drive to Ipswich and follow 1A to Newbury and Newburyport. Stay the night in the famous Greenleaf Inn (my place), dine at any one of 25 choice restuarants, walk on the waterfront and then take a few minutes to go to the ocean. The foilage in this area peaks about a week or 10 days following the mountains.
